Heather and Abigail's Journey

Here we are, Lord, send us!

We, Heather and Abigail, are thrilled to share that we embarking on a women’s-only “Journey of Compassion” (JOC) to Uganda, June 20-29, 2024! The Lord has truly stirred our heart for this Journey—our family has a hunger to join Jesus in his ministry to the poor and share about his goodness! Heather went to Uganda with Impact Nations in April of 2022 and has been eager to return. Abigail has wanted to go on an Impact Nations trip since she was five years old when her dad went on his first JOC to Nepal in the fall of 2016. (Abigail gave Andrew one of her “Hello Kitty” shirts to give to a young girl in Nepal—just out of her own heart and idea as a young 5-year-old.)

Abi shares, “I am excited about this trip to Uganda to have this special time with my mom, to help people, to try something new, and to learn how God can minister through me. Also, to go to the continent that my dad was born in, being closer to his history.”

Heather shares, “In 2020, my mom and I went on a JOC together. It was one of the most special times of my life, and so I am beyond excited at the opportunity to go on a mission’s trip with my daughter! We also both have a heart for the poor, and it will be incredible to give to the poor together. Abi has dreamed about doing this for eight years—I can’t wait for her realize this dream, and to see ministry through her eyes.”

As a member of this Impact team, we will:

• Minister to the girls of Karamojong in the slums of Katwe, Kampala

• Share the gospel and help them know that God has a plan for their life

• Engage in outdoor meetings planting seeds of hope, healing the sick (in Jesus' name) and leading people to encounters with Christ

• Provide for practical needs by going door to door with food packets, distributing life saving water filters and treated mosquito nets

• Heal the sick, bring comfort to the hurting, and invite people to know Christ

• Minister to amazing female leaders in a 2-day conference where I will encourage and acknowledge female leaders across multiple professions
