Dear friends,
Today Bill and I were supposed to be on a plane to Pakistan.
For more than a year, we have been preparing for a Journey of Compassion there—working with our partners, assembling a team, and praying with great expectation that the Gospel would be demonstrated through medical care, clean water, physical healing, and the invitation into abundant life with Christ.
But after careful consideration, we made the difficult decision to postpone this Journey.
It has been deeply disappointing.
For our staff.
For our partners in Pakistan.
For the team members who had been preparing their hearts to go.
And for those who generously helped send them.
Moments like this always remind me that the work of the Kingdom does not ultimately depend on our travel plans. As Proverbs reminds us, “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” (Prov. 16:9)
God is already moving in Pakistan.
Just yesterday we were on the phone with our local leader, who is now preparing for ten doctors and dentists to fly into the region to carry out the medical clinics we had been planning together. Communities that often feel forgotten will still receive care, compassion, and prayer.
As always, prayer teams will be there—connecting the power of heaven to the anguish people are experiencing and bringing healing and hope in the name of Jesus.
Bill and I were also discussing plans this morning with our friends at Catch The Fire, a global church network. Together we are preparing for pastors’ training in the region, ensuring that those who encounter Christ through these outreaches will have strong local leaders walking with them for years to come.
Even though we won’t be there in person, the work continues.
Tonight, the Journey of Compassion team that had planned to travel will gather on Zoom to pray for the clinics, the pastors’ training, and for God to move powerfully in Pakistan.
This is what the Impact Nations family does—we keep moving forward in faith.
Speaking of moving forward…
Our next Journey of Compassion will be in Uganda this July, and many members of the Pakistan team are already considering joining us there.
This Journey will include ministry to young women recovering in our shelters, outreach in some of the harshest slums in a city that is brand new for us, and an adventure on motorized canoes across Lake Victoria to a remote island community—where malaria, contaminated water, and teen pregnancy are daily realities.
The team is already beginning to come together. I’ll be there, and I would really love to see you join me as we bring hope and practical help to these communities.
Thank you for standing with us—through the joys, the disappointments, and the moments when we see the Kingdom of God breaking into the world.
Your generosity and prayers continue to bring healing, dignity, and hope to people who need it most.
We’ll keep you updated as the work unfolds in Pakistan in the days ahead.
With gratitude,
Tim
PS — I’ve been in the habit of recording a few of my thoughts lately. I recorded a short video about the Pakistan trip and wanted to share it with you. You can watch it here.
