Ready to go
Despite significant obstacles, classes for the refugees are ready to begin! Here is the update we received from our partners in Delhi:
"Our team went and stayed in Delhi for days to kick off the project. The following report gives the recent update of the Afghan refugee and how things are looking at this beginning phase."
- We were able to look and rent the relevant place, where we will be running the sewing center and the chef's training program. We have finished all the paperwork plus the police verification which was required by the government.
- We also communicated with the people that we are starting the program after Eid and were able to take registration of 40 individuals (20 people each project). These Afghans were in tears to witness that we were finally able to deliver what they were hoping and praying for.
- We were also able to purchase the Equipment for the sewing center and the Chef's training program.
- We were also able to finish all the legal requirements to run the vocational training center.
- We were also able to meet and communicate with the trainers who will be working with us to train the refugees.
- We were also able to meet and communicate with the agency who will be working with the job placements. We were also able to organize the meeting between the trainers and job placement agency to make sure that the trainers know all the details that are required by the job providers.
