The bigger picture - and next steps...

It was humbling and even confusing to see God demonstrate His compassion with such power using people (like me, in particular) who lacked faith and conviction. Whilst healings were great blessings, for me, the greatest miracle was that of salvation. Helping to lead several to Christ was wonderful - like life on earth, healings are temporal but salvation eternal.

So where next? For change to escalate and be sustainable, action needs to be multi-dimensional and not merely spiritual. As a matter of urgency, let's pray that God's spirit moves like a mighty wind to melt the hearts of leaders - so that they will lead by personal example to cripple corruption. Corruption is the scourge of emerging countries. Nothing frustrates true progress - and perpetuates poverty and despair - as much as this. If leaders were truly to lead for the benefit of their people (rather than themselves), change will happen and heaven would be that much closer to the earth. I trust that we all believe that with God, all things are possible.

Economic progress is critical for sustaining social development. Vince and his tremedous 'iron force for Christ' (Friends Meet) have a selfless vision for revitalising villages. There is so much we can do to help them become powerful catalysts in stimulating grass root change - but the challenge is great. However, if God's people cannot take back the prosperity that the thief has stolen, we have lost our value as the salt of the earth and will fare poorly as ambassadors for Christ. Please pray for a vision that will sweep aside doubt; for the wisdom to work out the right options and steps to take; and the will and tenacity to go the full journey; taking each step with great, great love and compassion.Then let's act boldly.
