An amazing thing has happened in Bulera. A few weeks ago, we helped Hannington to get electricity to his school, which also serves on Sundays as his church building. The town showed up with great interest to see the lights turned on. But then it gets really interesting.

On that Sunday, many people began to flood into the building. And they have stayed. When I asked Hannington why, he said that without power, the town was never convinced that he and the school & church were going to stay long term. When they saw the electricity going in, they saw it as a commitment to stay in the town.
The following week, his first group of young people came to the church and gave their lives to Christ. The following week these young people, on their own initiative, gathered some money for materials and built a pulpit! The next week, the congregation went out into the forest and cut down trees for poles and planks, and purchased roof materials (again, after gathering funds on their own). The picture shows the new addition. But Hannington told me that as of yesterday, the addition was full. They have grown from 150 members to 300.
The story continues: a few weeks ago during the Sunday meeting, the power of God hit the people so that they all fell to the ground and stayed there until 4pm! During this time, God sovereignly healed and delivered people all over the building. Many came to Jesus.
The salvations and healing are continuing each week. People have now heard what is happening and are traveling from other towns and villages.
Imagine...we helped to get electricity to a school building with the goal of helping the children to read and study, but God has done something else as well–"Beyond all we could hope or imagine."(Eph 3:20)
He always seems to take the bit of bread and fish in our hands, and when we give it away, He multiplies it.
Jesus continues to surprise us as He leads us into the harvest field.

This is truely wonderful Steve. The lights switched on - then they are now switched onto Jesus.
We could do with this in the UK!!

It blesses my heart whenever we see God do these things. I love the analogy of the loaves and fishes' Steve - you being so pumped for Jesus and His kingdom goes a long ways.

Praises to God! You're right Steve, it's amazing how something that starts out so small can be turned into something so big by the miracle of God's hand!
