Impact Nations

So, what is the impact of a Journey of Compassion anyway?

A few days ago, I invited members of the recent Journey to the Philippines to write about how the trip has impacted them as well as their friends & family. Here are some of the responses:

Hi everyone... As for me, this trip has become enormously life changing... I see how radically BIG my PAPA is: From the sunrise, to the mud, to the thousands of healings, to the tireless and dedicated armies, whoa, the new Christian armies (yahoo!), to the missionaries who are willing go through so much out of their sheer love for PAPA, to the sunset with a rainbow, to a pastor who gave his life to JESUS and served a flood-stricken,far flung, crocodile infested community because of JESUS... to this day I am amazed... for all the great things HE has done in our midst...

my best regards to all of you...

G'day mates. still not in Oz. at the moment in Taipei airport my flight for Sydney leaves 2 hours from now. I sent out text messages before i left the Phils at 5 pm today and whoa! i got a lot of responses and greetings. Col. Gupana, the real big kahuna over there in the CARAGA region, called me just before I boarded my flight in Manila! He said that JOC Impact Nations team was still the topic of their conversation last night. It was the Bishop's 50th anniversary as a priest and Fr. Lito's 13th. How wonderful to hear that they see such difference in us! Col.Gupana said that they have helped many medical missions team but we are just different and they are looking forward to having us in CARAGA next year! Yey for God! We are living the adventure of Jesus!

I had a chance to share about JOC in church last Sunday as part of preaching - I spoke from the aspect of the Kingdom of God and used testimonies from Philippines to illustrate the kingdom of God in action - underpinned the message with the mustard seed parable from Mk 4, approaching this parable from the perspective of the Jewish culture and the way in which the seed will spread so dramatically even though it's start is so small - I had a number of people giving +ve feedback including one of our high school chaplains who is looking to see more of the kingdom in the school & a number of people who would like to come on a JOC - trying to get some strategic alliances with another major international Christian organisation to get a joint venture with them and Impact Nations - interesting to see what happens

Hi everyone, the Philippines JOC has impacted me in two ways. I sense a new boldness and a zeal to see lots healed and in the Kingdom. Two I have realised just how big our God is. I am praying and working towards going again next year. What an adventure for this Nana. Blessings to you all Sue Comment by Steve Stewart on June 26, 2009 at 4:43pm Delete Comment Great report, Cha! Have any others of you had emails from Filipinos about the trip? And how has it affected you? Have you had an opportunity to talk about it with friends, family, church etc.? All of us put so much into this Journey, I am curious to find out how it has impacted you and others.
