Report from Haiti

I am in Haiti staying in Pastor Eddy and Marlene’s house. Their community is experiencing wonderful revival. They are hosting a “Prayer Festival”, starting at 6pm, in the yard at the side of their home, where there has been at least 2500 in attendance each night. Last night we prayed until after 11. Many hundreds were healed. It always strikes me when we are in places with such poverty that Jesus is the only option because they cannot afford to go to a doctor. In Haiti, however, they have another option, and many make this choice. They visit the local witch doctor, which just compounds their problems. They are a nation under many curses, but Jesus is setting his people free and taking back the land. We are considering doing a JOC here in June, so I am spending time forming a relationship with the local team, visiting various venues and praying about what God would have us do. I don’t have a good camera with me, but I’ll continue posting some pictures.
Steve is in Kenya, and is able to Twitter, but email isn’t working well. I was, however able to talk with him over the computer today. Technology can be frustrating, but being in Haiti talking to my husband in Kenya was a blessing!

David said, I will lift my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? Indeed our help comes from the Lord, the creator of the heavens and the earth.

It is at times like this when the earth is shaken, that we become conscious of the fact that we don't own the world, but there is a creator who holds everything in his hands.
Blessed are you Christina, God has given you an opportunity to behold the affliction of the poor and minister to their needs. May the name of the lord be blessed. God said he will refine us like gold and silver in the furnace of affliction! My prayer is may God make the love and faith of the saints in Haiti pure and precious through what they are going through. Amen
