Nicaragua Journey May 2010

Over the past year and a half, Impact Nations has developed a close and very fruitful relationship with El Shaddai Ministries in Nicaragua. During that time, we have worked together on a variety of transformational projects: feeding centers, medical clinics, public health, sanitation, church planting, and farming projects; the past two Christmases 3,000+ children have each received a toy and special meal. These projects are having a huge impact on the lives of thousands of people.

Journeys of Compassion open the way for these projects. When the villagers experience practical and supernatural demonstrations of God’s love and power, their lives become open to new possibilities. We have now seen thousands healed by the Lord in outdoor meetings, along village lanes, and during the medical clinics where the poor receive not only medical care, but healing prayer. New churches have been planted in villages as a direct result of the many hundreds who have given their lives to Jesus during the Journeys.

Besides the benefits to the Nicaraguans, Journeys of Compassion have a powerful impact on those who leave their home to come and participate. I am writing this from the Philippines, at the end of leading two Journeys in the past 5 weeks. Once again I saw team members grow in many ways:

•All preached or testified, many for the first time

• Everyone healed the sick and led people to Jesus

•Many gained understanding and insight into the plight of the
truly poor, and began to see (and in some cases, create) new solutions.

•Participants return to their homes empowered, envisioned and with
a heightened awareness of who they really are.
