Our lives are punctuated by milestones – milestones that define us, define who we are, how we think, what we believe. Two weeks in India with Impact Nations has become one such milestone in my life.
Six villages impacted by the love of Christ – in one of the villages they had never seen white people in the flesh before. This maybe why two babies screamed when their parents wanted me to bless them!!
Six villages where we could bring vitamins, de-worming and medical care.
Six villages where we could say ‘silver and gold, I do not have but what I do have I give to you – eyes opened, ears opened, healthy breathing restored, back, knee and leg pain healed, amongst many other healings.
Six villages where a gentle word, a smile, a touch of the hand brought joy and life to us all.
Six villages where centuries of beliefs that keep people captive to a lie were washed away by the breath of the Holy Spirit and the release of the Kingdom of God.
The healing that most impacted me on this journey was that of an elderly lady who was extremely crippled with a bent over back and so much pain that she could hardly walk. I prayed for her in the morning when we were walking through the village. After praying several times there was no change. I invited her to come to the clinic for more prayer which she accepted. She was prayed for several times by others and still no change. That night we held an outreach meeting in the village. Towards the end of the ministry time where significant healings and salvations were taking place, a young man came to me and asked if I would come and pray for his grandmother. He took me to her crouched in a corner behind a large group of people. To my delight it was the same elderly lady. I prayed for her once and she said she was feeling better, I prayed again and now all the pain had gone, and so she got up, went into the house she was in front of, and started sweeping the floor. What touched me was that I had continued to pray and wrestle with God in my heart over this lady for the whole day as I watched others get healed, and then at the end of the day, God in his kindness to this lady and to me, brought us together again. This is the all-powerful, almighty God and Creator of the universe who cares and knows about the tiniest details of each of our lives. How can we not be impacted.
