Impact Nations

Journey of Discovery to Nicaragua

Greetings to the Impact Nations Network!

There are 20+ people going on the Journey of Discovery from May 21 – 29. We will be connecting with Osvaldo, Rossy and the entire El Shaddai Christian ministry team. This will be our second journey.

The Journey of Discovery is designed as an opportunity for individuals from all walks of life and beliefs to participate in humanitarian social projects in a third-world nation while experiencing personal growth and development. At the core of our efforts is the simple belief that we all have a social responsibility to be compassionate with our neighbours locally and beyond. By engaging in these tangible acts of compassion, we all have an opportunity to discover our purpose, passions and potential. When this happens, the journey doesn’t end upon leaving a developing nation; participants are transformed and bring the same heart back to their families, workplaces and communities. On top of this newfound compassion, we also help develop life skills such as teamwork, communication and personal organization. The final result is a potent combination for success and true fulfillment.

The current projects for this JOD are:

1.       Construction of Latrines

2.       Feeding Centres

3.       A Medical Brigade Clinic

4.       An Outreach Campaign and Feeding in the Prison

5.       Outreach with Sex Trade Workers with Food Basket Donation

6.       A Conference with Local Police and Food Basket Donations

7.       Care and Hygiene Packages for Children Assembled in Canada First

8.       Scouting of Future Opportunities Such as Micro-Business

9.       Possible Hygiene Projects (Cleaning Head Lice)

Another unique aspect of the JOD is the opportunity for entrepreneurs and small business to participate in corporate social responsibility. Through a network of partnerships and social media venues, we offer high leverage vehicles for exposure and company morale. We are extremely thankful to all our donors and sponsors that make the JOD even more productive and effective.

The JOD has chosen Nicaragua as its long-term focus. Our belief is it takes many years to build the proper relational foundation to foster social and economic sustainability. Over the years we have developed deep friendships with the host team in Nicaragua which makes labouring together that much more enjoyable and fulfilling. We look forward to sharing our progress. As always, any financial support is appreciated. Please donate to Impact Nations Project #126. A big thank-you to Impact Nations for partnering with us in this worthy cause.
