Impact Nations

After two days of orientation (Monday & Tuesday), we went out to the villages to conduct medical clinics, pray for the sick in the streets and in their homes, and held outdoor evangelism and healing meetings on Wednesday & Thursday.

We treated about 500 people, and saw many healed and make decisions to open their hearts to Christ. On Thursday, while prayer-walking the village with Sue Walker, we were stopped by a woman and asked to pray for her husband. He was too weak to stand or walk; he had been suffering from a lung condition for two months and was having great difficulty breathing. After prayer he was breathing much better and began to walk around his yard. When others saw this, they came over for prayer. One healing stands out: an older woman was very bent over. After we prayed for her back, our translator asked the woman to try doing she couldn't do before; the woman did not respond, so the translator said it again. At that point, her neighbours explained that the woman was deaf and so did not hear the instructions. First we helped her understand to test out her back. She stood up straight and with a big smile, announced she had no pain. Then we prayed for her ears. I snapped my fingers, but she heard nothing. We prayed again, and this time she heard my fingers snap. We prayed again and suddenly, her ears opened. With great joy, she began to converse freely with her surprised and happy friends.

That evening, we held an outdoor meeting. Besides the many healings, a large crowd of people, most of them HIndu, came forward and received Christ. It was a powerful evening, with many young men responding to the challenge and invitation to come forward and open their lives to Christ. Many came. Young and old, men and women came forward. There was a powerful presence of the Lord all evening.

As I was leaving, an older woman with a Bible came up to me and said, "It was like Jesus came and visited the village tonight!" Indeed.
