Wow, what an eye-opening experience. I knew that going to India would be interesting because I have always wanted to go and see the country, the culture, experience the food and the people. This trip really surpassed all expectations that I had about what I would see and what God would do. We got to see God's love in action.
30 people from 5 different countries came together to bring God's kingdom, to follow a calling placed on our hearts. I learned that when we are doing His will that great things will happen and new ideas, new seeds will be planted. We were able to go to India to provide love and support for an amazing network of Indian pastors and their teams, to go into villages and help bring more of God's kingdom to the people. The people from India we worked with were so amazing, organized, hard working, and full of the love of Jesus, doing His work every day and we got to be a small part of their ministry.
We were able to see almost 300 people per day in the 6 medical clinics that we ran, many people received healing and came to know Jesus as their personal savior, friend and brother. We went into the streets and fed the poor. We went door to door in parts of the city to pray for people and connect them with churches close by. From doing small things like medical clinics and night meetings, 6 new churches will be started in the villages we went to to support the new believers.
While we were doing these things, behind the scenes new ideas and plans were coming into fruition: plans for starting a new sewing school to equip single women, mothers and widows a chance to be able to support their families with a trade and then pay it forward so more women will be able to do the same. Other similar plans were set in motion to enable people to support their families and their churches and pastors.
Not only did God move in great ways in India, but He also moved in great ways in every person on the trip. I know I will never be quite the same. I have a new fire in my heart for mission work and seeing Jesus' love brought to every person. I made new friends from 6 different countries that I will never forget and I look forward to seeing them again on future Journeys of Compassion.
