Dear friends,

We did Feeding the Poor to our beggar friends on 5th. There were heavy rains for the past 3 days and it is still raining now.

We've decided to give them Lemon rice (rice with lot of pulses and tamarind), boiled egg and water. We've also gathered lots of used clothes to give them. Normally we give them more food but with rains we've decided to give more than the usual. We've prepared and packed the food, the auto arrived but there was heavy out pouring. We are afraid, if it continues further we may not find more of our friends, thought they will go and hide some where. (But where will they go?)  We all prayed and started in the rain.

The first old woman we saw was sitting on the foot steps of a shop.  I said thanks to the shop keeper in my heart for letting her sit there, which is very unususal. How happy she was on seeing us and the food.
The second man was walking on the road in the rain, the third one was sleeping on the floor in an old bus shelter beside a drainage. He was surprised to see the food being given to him in that rain. Few more on the way.
Later we saw a bunch of guys in a bus shelter, they are so happy and said they did not eat anything for the past 4 days. 4 days!! Oh my God. We gave them food, clothes and spend time with them. Few we found in the big construction tubes on the road. They are all sleeping?! We woke them up and gave them food. Few more on the way, many are literally naked. We couldn't dare to take their pictures like that. Thank God we took the clothes this time.

And at last in our regular spot, we found so many under the sheds (it's a parking area for 2 wheelers near railway station). We don't want them to line up in the rain. So we asked them to stand in a line in the shed. I gave eggs, Pradeep gave them food and Solmon gave them water. Some are giving away the clothes. While i was giving the eggs, i came to one half naked women, gave her an egg. Suddenly i felt something moving on my legs, i looked down, shocked, my legs are  in bunch of worms ( They are 3 to 4 inches long, hairy thin, sure they are not earth worms. What are they?) I looked all the way back i started giving eggs and the water is full of worms. I didn't notice till then. I literally trembled not beacause the worms are crawling on my feet but for the very reality of them living, eating and sleeping in and beside that same water. God!!

My eyes got used to seeing them beside the roads, soaking in rain and drainage water, competing with dogs for food in dust bins. But this is so terrifying. Living even with the ugly( sorry) worms. They are competing with wild dogs for food and sleep, competing with the different colours of the weather for life and death, waiting for death than daily living with hunger and diseases, disappearing every day un noticed. That is why we are deeply burdened every day to take in the girls below 5 years and give them a life full of hope and love.

It is still raining here and will continue for few more months. I beg you to please pray for our dear friends.

We are always so thankful to God for giving us this blessed opportunity to give them food, caring for the poor and oppressed on behalf of you. Thank you so much for your valuable prayers and partnership.
May God richly bless you.

Love and prayers,
Vince and Nancy
