Impact Nations

The journey of compassion to Haiti was an incredible experience for me and it is a trip that I highly recommend to anyone with a sense of adventure and a longing to see the power and love of God moving in peoples’ lives.

The Haitians are a beautiful people, who have a heart that is open and hungry for the gospel of Jesus. That is what impacted me the most, the fact that every person I talked to, wanted prayer and expected healing from God and if they did not know Jesus, they would readily invite Him into their hearts to be their Lord and Saviour. What an awesome privilege that is, to introduce them to the One who loves them most and whose plans and purposes for them, are for a hope and a future!

Playing, dancing and just having fun with the children was another highlight. Some of the little ones would literally coming running up to you and then wrap their arms around your legs in a big old fashioned bear hug. They craved human contact, acceptance and love and it was an absolute joy and an honour to give that to them. It was all so precious and lovely! We are not supposed to have favourites, but there was one or two that I could have quite easily taken home with me.

The need is so very great in Haiti and the road ahead for them seems long and insurmountable. However, the people are strong and from what I experienced, their faith in God is the same, perhaps maybe even stronger. Impact Nations, together with Pastor Reginald and his team, are making a difference in the lives of many in this nation. If you have a desire to reach the lost, the poor and the needy, which is what we as Christians are called to do, I encourage you to prayerfully consider going on the next JOC to Haiti. It is a life changing experience that will leave you wanting more from God.
