One of the most enlightening moments for me on this trip has actually been becoming sick myself. The medicines I needed were readily available to me while the people of Uganda often have difficulty getting them. The clean water, electricity and other comforts I have so readily taken for granted are often lacking here. It's really humbling to realize how much I have.
In the midst of it all, God has moved with power. Many people have come to know Jesus and experienced the power of God-. One older gentleman, name John, came to the clinic because he could no longer read his Bible. After I prayed for him, he ran home to get his Bible. His vision had improved enough to read the large print. We prayed again and he could read the tiniest print. John praised God and celebrated by reading scriptures over the waiting people. On the same day, God removed the cataracts from the eyes of an older woman.
The children are filled with joy. They have also received the ministry of Jesus and there have been many healings and salvations. Monday, a mother brought a two year old to the clinic who could not sit up. Her spine was in the shape of an S and she appeared to have severe scoliosis. As I prayed, her spine was completely straightened. God is good.
