Impact Nations

When a natural disaster happens it usually affects a city, however what has happened in Haiti has affected a whole nation. The Journey began in Bavaro, Domincan Republic. There the truck was filled with food, supplies and medicine. We had to stop to get 3 vaccinations before we even went into Haiti. The Journey was long and rigorous, it was 18 hours from one side of the island to the other. Google wasn't able to give us directions from Bavaro to Carrefour, maybe that gives you an idea of the journey. It was "big fun" as Steve would say. The Haitians in Carrefour only received one meal from any large government organization. Much of the nations lies in ruins and we have the opportunity like Isaiah said to "rebuild the waste places". When I was in Carrefour I felt safe, so the good news in the U.S marines seem to be keeping things safe and somewhat stable. A couple thousand pounds of food was delivered, as well as tarps and a small medical clinic was conducted the day we were there. Many of you know Jaipaul from the India journeys, his wife was in Carrefour helping medically. Food will be a major need for several years however another major need is shelter. Haiti is soon to be in the "rain" season. Yesterday my friend Jordan from Haiti called me and asked for me to pray for him to get a tent so he has some sort of shelter for him and the little he still has. Jordan was instrumental in Christina and I getting out of the house safely. The people are getting food slowly, it is some what safe. The need is overwhelmingly unexplainable with mere words. I hope some of the pictures help you see how much help they need! You can make a difference...

Check your e-mail, today I e-mailed you concerning April. I think we can and should go to Haiti, however it might be challenging to have good accommodations.

Thanks for the great report Adam. I look forward to seeing you in April. Do you think we can go ahead with a JOC to Carrefour in June>?
