Monday night our team of 47 had a party unpacking all the donations we had brought for the Haitian people. It was happy mayhem as we unloaded and sorted many hundreds of kilos of clothing, shoes, household goods, toiletries, school supplies and toys. We separated out some that are designated for a school, some for an orphanage, and the rest will be available daily at our clinics at a "free store" to bless those who come. At Impact Nations we believe in rescuing the whole person; physically, spiritually, economically and practically. We have purchased thousands of dollars of medicine. A local dentist whose clinic was lost in the earthquake, went with one of our team to purchase dental supplies and equipment, which we will leave with her when we go. This is possible through donations from some Australian friends, and a hairdresser in Richmond, BC, Canada. We are also using funds that have come into our Haiti relief project to purchase various building supplies for our team to use in the reconstruction work they will do.
Be sure to read Sheri's news about donations from Calgary. Here is a list (only partial, I'm sure) of the corporate type donations I'm aware of:

So far my personal favorite story I've heard is the 92 year old woman from Victoria who wished that she could come to help, but went home and sewed 2 sundresses to send to 2 little girls here. I promise we will take a picture!
Today we head out to do our first clinic, next to a tent city here in Carrefour. The construction team will also be working on a project.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen.
