We were in Nkwazi this morning only to be called by people that there is a woman whose huisband was staying in Nkwazi and when she come looking for him only to find that the husband died a few months ago. the relatives to the late husban immediately demanded that she lives the house.

Steve Stewart Burundi: Journey to the Heart of Africa

After an eight hour car trip from Harare to Lusaka, then a cancelled flight resulting in a one day delay, we arrived in Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi. This tiny nation of six million people is known at “the heart of Africa” because of its central location and shape. It is surrounded by Lake Tanganyika and the Congo. Situated south of Rwanda, Burundi shares the same language and cultural/tribal composition with its neighbor to the north.

Burundi experienced the same tribal killings… Continue

Steve Stewart More From The Heart of Africa

On Saturday, I met with Pastor Edmond Kivuye. He leads one of the largest churches in the nation with a Sunday morning attendance of 8,000. Many key government leaders attend the church. As we visited, we were both pleased to discover that we had several common friends and acquaintances, including Langton Gatsi, the Zimbabwean national leader that we had just been with. Listening to this charismatic and engaging man, I was struck by his authority and confidence in what God had given him to do. H… Continue

Ed Kang Why The Nicaragua Journey of Compassion Will Change Your Life Like It Did For Mine

Hi everyone,

I thought I would put in a shameless plug for Nicaragua as the next Journey of Compassion. It has been almost a year since I got back from the JOC, my first of hopefully many, that left me radically changed forever. I believe everybody really needs to know how special our relationship with Osvaldo and his team really is.

When I first arrived last year, the truth is my life

Steve Stewart Nicaragua Journey May 2010

Over the past year and a half, Impact Nations has developed a close and very fruitful relationship with El Shaddai Ministries in Nicaragua. During that time, we have worked together on a variety of transformational projects: feeding centers, medical clinics, public health, sanitation, church planting, and farming projects;

Rebekah Cooper the God of impossibilities!!!!!

"Wow God, you are amazing!"

This is what I have been repeating over and over again for the past 2 weeks. I was not sure if I was going to come on the trip to the Philippines but I am so glad I did. The journey and the 6 clinics looked more than impossible but when I booked my flight I had peace.

Everytime something looked impossible I knew God would do something amazing to blow our minds. There have been countless times that God has astounded us yet its hard to get them all down

JED Rosano Touched!

I was really hesitant to join this year's journey since I was being led to focused only on my one thing.
But when I asked Father GOD if He wants me to join, He gave me a big YES... and so my adventure began...

Ray Carter Joy of salvation

It was a warm evening and there were many listening to the invitation for salvation. The call was given - 'Come to Jesus' and many came forward. The most surprising thing is that some of the people who came, were hiding in the darkness and in the shadows far away from the stage.

I catch sight of an older man (maybe in his late 60's) who comes forward quickly to say YES to Jesus. After prayer the JOC team and local pastors move to lay hands on those who have come forward - even

Steve Stewart The Hidden Manila

I am trying not to fall down. Cha, Rogel and I are following a woman named Dalia as we wind single-file through a dark labyrinth of shacks set too close for any sun to get in; she is taking us to her aged mother who is too weak and sick to get to the clinic that we have set up in a basketball court. Only 50 yards from the court, I have stepped into another world. After a few twists and turns I am completely disoriented. A very large dog bares its teeth at me and snarls menacingly. In the gloom,… Continue

Chacha Del Corro 5 Loaves and 2 Fishes

Praise God for another Journey accomplished!

This impossible Journey of 10 people has been so amazing. He raised up a company of people who stood with us as we served the poor physically and spiritually. He has made this trip possible with His grace and strength. He raised up contacts where ever we went...true partners in the Kingdom of God. While we served the poor, God opened doors of favour everywhere we went. How amazing is His love for us and for the poor. And how gracious are

vijay christian urgency is really stirring up our hearts

Greetings in Jesus' name.
An urgency is really stirring up our hearts to reach more
villages with the Gospel and to do this work as fast as we can. The
reason, both the Government of our State and the various big heads of
the temples have come to an understanding to stop preaching the Gospel
in villages specailly and to stop Conversion of Hindus to various
other religions especially, Christians. They are buliding more and
more temples in the villages and educating th… Continue

Danielle Michaud Reflections on grace

To what end would God go to show His love and glory? In Egypt He devastated the land and tore open the sea so that everyone would know that He is the great I AM. In Bethlehem He sent His beloved son to live here with us; to befriend the marginalized, to challenge the self-righteous and ultimately to die for us all. And in the past two weeks, God again proved His power and His love.
We arrived just a few- 10 plus two- a significant number I am sure. It was hard to imagine just how this was al

Sue Walker Gau Gau, Philippines

What an great night - we were doing outreach on the street - making way for motorbikes and tricycles to pass through the crowd that had gathered. This crowd was special, there were so many children. The team started dancing with the children, the children joined in, it was like a party. Bek, her puppet AJ and Chacha ministered to the children, they gathered round fully focused. The adults kept to the background but were listening intently. The result - all the children gave their hearts to Jesus… Continue

Sue Walker Each 'one' matters

If I wondered whether I was to come on this trip before I left Sydney, I had no doubt on the morning after I arrived in Manila, when I went to Payatas, the town built up around the rubbish tip. God has broken my heart for the poor in this nation and I feel the deep privilege of being allowed by Him to come here to be part of sharing His love and mercy. I think of the story of the little boy, who, on finding thousands of starfish stranded on a beach, began throwing them back in one by one. When s… Continue

Ray Carter Expecting great things

It was so good to be able to share with a small church community in Pampanga (Philippines), how Jesus heals. At the conclusion of the service we prayed for the sick and yes, God healed many.

Over lunch Pastora Tess explains to us that next Sunday they will have a Harvest Thanksgiving service for the community. She explains that it will be a wonderful opportunity to apply all that we spoke about - the church will pray for all those from the community who are sick. We, and they,

Ray Carter Change in Pampanga

As part of the small JOC team in the Philippines I am once again moved by what Father God has done in the lives of people here.

It is just on lunch time at our second clinic here in Pampanga. I am asked to help organise the team to take a lunch break - it is only when I speak to one of the 12 or so pastors who came from Manilla to help us that I realise they hadn't eaten at all that day - they must have left home at 3 am to get here but had not been able (afford?) to eat anythi

Steve Stewart Philippines Journey of Compassion: Pampanga

Hanging over the Philippines, this land of over 7,000 islands and 93 million people, is an uneasiness, almost a sense of dread. In May, all over the country federal, provincial and municipal elections will be held. The people are not really afraid of the outcome of these elections; it is the country’s long history of violence connected to the campaigning and voting that they fear. Ironically, a
