“Does a Journey of Compassion make any lasting difference?”
A good question that I am often asked.
It seems to me that there are two criteria for answering: first, check out the fruit that is immediately apparent

Hi everyone,
I thought I would put in a shameless plug for Nicaragua as the next Journey of Compassion. It has been almost a year since I got back from the JOC, my first of hopefully many, that left me radically changed forever. I believe everybody really needs to know how special our relationship with Osvaldo and his team really is.
When I first arrived last year, the truth is my life

Over the past year and a half, Impact Nations has developed a close and very fruitful relationship with El Shaddai Ministries in Nicaragua. During that time, we have worked together on a variety of transformational projects: feeding centers, medical clinics, public health, sanitation, church planting, and farming projects;

"Wow God, you are amazing!"
This is what I have been repeating over and over again for the past 2 weeks. I was not sure if I was going to come on the trip to the Philippines but I am so glad I did. The journey and the 6 clinics looked more than impossible but when I booked my flight I had peace.
Everytime something looked impossible I knew God would do something amazing to blow our minds. There have been countless times that God has astounded us yet its hard to get them all down

It was a warm evening and there were many listening to the invitation for salvation. The call was given - 'Come to Jesus' and many came forward. The most surprising thing is that some of the people who came, were hiding in the darkness and in the shadows far away from the stage.
I catch sight of an older man (maybe in his late 60's) who comes forward quickly to say YES to Jesus. After prayer the JOC team and local pastors move to lay hands on those who have come forward - even

It was so good to be able to share with a small church community in Pampanga (Philippines), how Jesus heals. At the conclusion of the service we prayed for the sick and yes, God healed many.
Over lunch Pastora Tess explains to us that next Sunday they will have a Harvest Thanksgiving service for the community. She explains that it will be a wonderful opportunity to apply all that we spoke about - the church will pray for all those from the community who are sick. We, and they,

As part of the small JOC team in the Philippines I am once again moved by what Father God has done in the lives of people here.
It is just on lunch time at our second clinic here in Pampanga. I am asked to help organise the team to take a lunch break - it is only when I speak to one of the 12 or so pastors who came from Manilla to help us that I realise they hadn't eaten at all that day - they must have left home at 3 am to get here but had not been able (afford?) to eat anythi

Hanging over the Philippines, this land of over 7,000 islands and 93 million people, is an uneasiness, almost a sense of dread. In May, all over the country federal, provincial and municipal elections will be held. The people are not really afraid of the outcome of these elections; it is the country’s long history of violence connected to the campaigning and voting that they fear. Ironically, a
