Back in the swing of things...

It's been a few days since my return home to Canada from the Uganda trip. I've had a difficult time trying to adjust to life back at home as I miss my new family members from the Impact team and from Uganda. I'm looking forward to what God has in store for us all, and I hope to hear all about the adventures you're having with Him. My prayers are with all of you, whether you're at home in North America, in Uganda, or in other parts of Africa. Blessings - Kaitlynn

Love in Uganda

This has been the most amazing adventure! I joined the team to do dentistry here in Uganda, and what I've found breaks my heart. The need here is great and supplies are short. However, the faith these people have is overwhelmingly strong. I've seen many healings from headaches to back pain, and so much more. With only a couple days left, I'm excited to see what more God has in store!

That's super. Hopefully, I will deal with my technological impairment and manage to get this Tuesday's teaching on the site as a podcast.
See you next week. Steve. P.S. Feel free to bring company.

Hi Kaitlynn,
I had a great talk with Robert Mponye a couple of days ago. He is going to join us in Burundi for the November Journey of Compassion.
Thought you might be interested in something that is starting at our house:
Hi everyone,

Christina & I, after months of being out of the country more than home, now find ourselves in Vancouver for a good portion of the summer and fall. This week I taught an introduction on The Sermon on the Mount as preparation for a teaching series that I am beginning this coming Tuesday in our home. We will meet for potluck supper at 6 pm for those who want to do that, and then begin teaching at 7:30. If you want to come to the potluck, please rsvp by email; if you want to only come to the teaching, simply show up with a Bible and notebook at 7:30–and feel free to bring a friend with you.. We are also hoping to put the weekly teaching on our website (www.impactnations.com) for those who can't make it.

I have been studying the Sermon on the Mount in some depth since the beginning of 2010. This has significantly affected my prayer life and impacted my personal experience of following Jesus as a disciple. The Sermon in the Mount is the most concentrated teaching of Jesus that we have recorded; it is His 'Magna Carta". I am excited to have this opportunity in my schedule to teach and discuss with friends over the coming weeks.

Blessings,
Steve

Impact Nation`s users, we are preparing the next journal to Nicaragua in August.
We going to visit The Jail and we`ll do “The First Christian Festival”...Will be great, they`ve never had something like that. And we`ll have more…you could visit every feeding center, where we have 100 to 500 children depending of the place… you will be able to cook for them and play with they. We will do medical brigade to attend sick and poor people, and Evangelist Crusade at night. You`ll know our beach and you be able enjoy playing and eating seafood. And we showing folkloric stores so you can buy souvenirs of you trip to our country. Hurry up! Don`t think more about that…you will not regret

Hi Kaitlynn; I was going to leave you a note that Doug posted the hair salon project, but he beat me to it! Thanks for bringing Esther's salon to our attention. I love it when we can help with these sustainable projects. I'm going to donate now!

Hi Kaitlynn,
Well, is it too soon to ask if you want to come out and play with Christina & I again? It would be terrific to have you with us in Haiti June 13-25.
A remarkable door of opportunity has opened up for us to really impact the lives of several thousand people who have still not been able to get help. I hope you will join Christina & I.
Here is something I wrote a few days ago about Haiti:
We all know that the earthquake in Haiti was one of the most devastating in modern history. Reading the statistics can be overwhelming–240,000 killed, 1.3 million homeless, over 500,000 still living on the streets, who knows how many children orphaned and traumatized?
But a remarkable door of opportunity has opened for us to reach about 4,000 people who are in the epicenter of the destruction and have not received any NGO or government help. We may not be able to help a million people, but we can help these thousands.

If ever there was a need that we can do something about, this is it. Perhaps more than any other time I can remember, this is our opportunity to live out the power and reality of the Gospel through a Journey of Compassion. We have room for 50 people. I wish we had room for hundreds. We can both BE the hands & feet of Jesus, AND minister to Him (Mt 25:40)––in fact, I feel that authentic faith means we must.
The sacrifice of our time, money, schedules and preferences is worth the lives of the Haitians.
“If not now, then when? If not us, then who? If not this, then what?”
