Uganda

Working here in Uganda has been very humbling. I have seen eyes open, heart rates slow, mute children scream all this in just one evening meeting. We visited the hospital in Mitiyana where we were able to pray for the very very sick. I will never again complain about the health care system in Canada. At least we have one.  The womens ward that I visited had a many people in great pain. That all stopped after the team prayed for all 16 women. We were also able to bless them with a gift before we… Continue

Mathew 23:23

My calling doesn't stop with sharing the good news. I'm also called to do something to care for the poor. If we aren't, then , asks the apostle John, how can the love of God be within us? (1 Jon 3 :16 ). Because we are all called to seek mercy, justice and faith. In not taking action I would be missing out in the abundance of the life that God has intended for me. A full life for which Christ died on the cross for. A life of godly significance, of divine importance ( John 10:10 ).

After a telephone conversation with a possible contributor I hung up the phone with a good feeling about this potential contributor. After several phone calls and emails you begin to get a sense of who's in and who's not. I always pray before I start talking with people or before I send a personalized email and no matter what happens I know that God's got my back. I'm learning His will be done not Joyce's.

Closer to Goal

Yay Yay. We have 4 out of the 10. After making a few phone calls, we are that much closer to funding the Feeding Center Roof. Ask me if I have done this before and the answer would be a resounding no. What I've found is that people are looking for a way to help the desperately poor and we are offering them an option. This project is a very practical way to help the children of Divino Nino and we are on our way. Thanks to the contributors.

GOAL OF TEN

I'm real excited about being able to help Impact to a greater extent. Having gone on four Journey's of Compassion ( Venezuela, Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua ) I have been awakened and come alive with passion for the needs of these developing countries . Impact has given me a venue in which to do more. With the help of friends and family I am going to find donors to help finance a roof over a Feeding Center in Nicaragua. Passion is contagious and with this passion will come perseverance. Many a… Continue

"A happy child makes a toy at Christmas"
Each year the Christian ministry SHADDAI the direction of the Holy Spirit is dedicated to spread joy and hope to all children attending the Children's Dining in different areas of the city of Chinandega. Precisely in the Christmas season, especially when dominated and growing sense of peace, love, solidarity and love of neighbor. The task is not easy, and that starts months before the request for support to each and every one of the good-hearted people who want to make a child happy at Christmas, for it sent a mass invitation to contribute to this noble cause with almost a token contribution, in this case 2010, we have determined to request an offering of $ 5.00 for each child, as these funds are invested in bring a lunch, a piñata and conclude with the presentation of a toy for each child.

The greatest satisfaction of all the team of Christian Ministry "El Shaddai" is to receive the invaluable prize of smiling children shouting for joy when you receive a lunch, a piñata and a toy in many cases not expecting these Christmas.

Only our Heavenly Father makes possible what many consider difficult.
God Bless ALL that good-hearted support year after year this worthy cause for children Chinandega.

"Every man according as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver."

Hi Joyce,
I wondered if this would be of any interest to you and Dave:
Hi everyone,

Christina & I, after months of being out of the country more than home, now find ourselves in Vancouver for a good portion of the summer and fall. This week I taught an introduction on The Sermon on the Mount as preparation for a teaching series that I am beginning this coming Tuesday in our home. We will meet for potluck supper at 6 pm for those who want to do that, and then begin teaching at 7:30. If you want to come to the potluck, please rsvp by email; if you want to only come to the teaching, simply show up with a Bible and notebook at 7:30–and feel free to bring a friend with you.. We are also hoping to put the weekly teaching on our website (www.impactnations.com) for those who can't make it.

I have been studying the Sermon on the Mount in some depth since the beginning of 2010. This has significantly affected my prayer life and impacted my personal experience of following Jesus as a disciple. The Sermon in the Mount is the most concentrated teaching of Jesus that we have recorded; it is His 'Magna Carta". I am excited to have this opportunity in my schedule to teach and discuss with friends over the coming weeks.

Blessings,
Steve

We going to visit The Jail and we`ll do “The First Christian Festival”...Will be great, they`ve never had something like that. And we`ll have more…you could visit every feeding center, where we have 100 to 500 children depending of the place… you will be able to cook for them and play with they. We will do medical brigade to attend sick and poor people, and Evangelist Crusade at night. You`ll know our beach and you be able enjoy playing and eating seafood. And we showing folkloric stores so you can buy souvenirs of you trip to our country. Hurry up! Don`t think more about that…you will not regret.

Hi Joyce & Dave,
We are in a huge Manila slum doing medical clinic today. In an area that was buried in 40+ feet of water during the typhoon. Many, many killed, 51 lost forever in flood. VEry thankful people. We have had a good Journey. Between the Uganda and Philippines Journeys, will treat about 5,000 people in our clinics.
Over past 7 weeks, I have met with many gov't leaders. Looks like we have some very big and interesting partnerships developing. Met with Governor on Friday to set up a manufacturing center in north for the water filters. This will be a really big deal. Also met leaders in Uganda, Kenya and Zimbabwe about national and district water projects. It has been very long trip (feels like 6 months), but so much fruit. I don't know how many have come to Jesus, how many have been healed. Some very big miracles. Girl totally deaf and mute from birth now hearing and talking. Cripples walking. Tumors disappearing.
If you have a chance, look at the website reports. God is doing amazing things.
Bless you,
Steve

Joyce I'm sad that the door is closed for Uganda for you. I'm praying that God will open the door to the right place at the right time.
