Nakuru is the fourth largest city in Kenya. It is situated next to a crater lake near the centre of the country about three hours northwest of the capital Nairobi. In 2007, Nakuru was hit hard by post election violence as the tribal nature of politics in Kenya reached a boiling point. At that time many people lost their homes and their loved ones. Pastor Mike Brawan of Nakuru Metro Church lost his church building to arson after gaining a seat on city council.
