What is a Journey of Compassion? Journeys put hands and feet to the adventure of the Gospel, where together we live out the reality that the Kingdom of God is big enough and powerful enough to touch every part of life. Men, women, and children who choose to join us are those who desire to go beyond what they have ever experienced in their Christian life––to be used by the Lord to bring His salvation, healing and hope.
They are those who truly want to do the “greater works” that Jesus talked about. Join us as we bring the supply of heaven to the needs around us, one person at a time. Say yes to the invitation that will change lives forever, beginning with yours. Steve Stewart, Founder of Impact Nations
Local Partners We work closely with national leaders to develop the relationships that form the foundation for all future endeavors. The local ministries are the ones who best know the true community needs and often have the most effective strategies for meeting those needs. Impact Nations recognizes our role to come alongside to support, enhance and encourage.
Medical Clinics We bring medicine and basic health care equipment and a team of medical professionals that work in close partnership with local doctors, nurses and dentists. We’ll often see 200-300 people who do not have access to medical care. It takes a lot of volunteers to make the clinics an organized success.
Building Bridges The Kingdom of God comes through transformational relationships. We arrange one translator for every 2-3 people so everyone can get to know the locals.
Working as a Team The Journey starts with an orientation time where team members from different nations gain a common understanding of our values and practices, and the local culture. We teach about the Kingdom, justice, healing the sick, telling people about Jesus, and working effectively in the medical clinics.
Healing and Evangelism Outreaches in open air settings gather the community as they hear the music and drama.
Only the Beginning These trips lay a foundation for ongoing, transformational help. In the last five years, our journeys have led to micro-business loans, feeding programs, shelter for orphans, sustainable farming projects, and countless other opportunities. In the months following a Journey of Compassion, you can work with others through the Impact Network to develop unique projects with the people you met.
Steve and Christina Stewart Steve and Christina have led 22 journeys to 13 nations. It is their greatest joy to empower and release each team member for hands-on ministry. They have led hundreds of people like you to heal the sick, work in medical clinics, and share the good news. As the team gathers from numerous nations, they begin with teaching and impartation to prepare you to release the Kingdom of God and heal and sick.
What to Expect Come to support the local leaders in the activities they choose, and work with their medical personnel. Discover more about who you are as you release the compassion of Jesus and extend His Kingdom. Make lasting friendships with people from all over the world, and to become one team with the local leaders and translators. Be part of God’s ongoing transformational story after you go home as you launch new projects with the friends you’ve made. |
India, January 15-27
“Vince” and his team of young people from all over the city serve the poor in dozens of villages. Last January we worked with them to put on clinics in villages, host a secular concert for 8,000, and feed people who are born, live and die on the sidewalk. Through it all we saw hundreds of Hindus respond to the love of Jesus.
Haiti, March 5-16 Reg started a church after the earthquake that is now reaching out in their community and to 3 villages. Last March we went to Jacmel and a tent city called Cite Maya. We operated medical clinics, played with hundreds of children and put on concerts. Out of hundreds of people receiving healing we started a cell church in the tent city that has grown to 70 people. And along the way, these journeyers saved a baby from certain death!
Uganda, May 6-18 Robert leads 50 churches and works with hundreds of others to bring the Kingdom to the poor. Last May our Journey took us to Bulera and Kalonga. “Backs, necks, shoulders, arms, legs, feet, knees, hands – healed, all pain gone and freedom of movement. Fevers went, headaches went, stomach aches went. Eyes were healed – people seeing double were now seeing clearly, people who couldn’t see to read could now read again. What a delight and a joy also to get the opportunity to stand with people as they gave their hearts to Jesus – the greatest healing of all.” – Sue Walker, Prayer Coordinator
Kenya, May 20 - June 1 Mike was born into poverty and someone gave him a chance, so he’s all about helping others. We’ve helped him free dozens of poor women from prison for not having business licences. Now the door has opened up for us to bring a team and begin walking alongside his ministry.
Nicaragua, August Carlos lives and ministers in Limonal. Last August we spent the entire Journey in his little village. We repaired roofs, built latrines, fed children, healed the sick and led people to Jesus. And because we stayed working with those 200 families, we personally met and talked with each one.
