Clean Water Project Print E-mail
Did you know?
• Some 6,000 children die every day from diseases associated with lack of access to safe drinking water, inadequate sanitation and poor hygiene.
• At any one time it is estimated that patients suffering from water-borne diseases occupy half of the world’s hospital beds
• Approximately one-sixth of the world's population: (1.1 billion people!) does not have access to safe water.
IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY!

Right now, a door is open for us to transform individual lives and whole villages by implementing a proven, sustainable technology that will provide access to clean water for tens of thousands of people in southern India.

Project Description
• Teach and train the Indian nationals to build and use bio-sand filters for water purification
• Set up a facility for production and distribution of the household water filters
• Supervise the initial production and distribution of the water filters and test water quality
• Teach hygiene to key local people so that they, in turn, can train the people receiving the water filters

Bio-Sand Water Filters are capable of removing more than 97% of the pathogens from the water.
