2007 Was Wonderful.  2008 Looks Incredible!

We are so thankful to the Lord and so many of you who partnered with us to reach thousands in the developing world last year. During the Journeys of Compassion to India , Mexico and the Philippines we were able to see thousands miraculously healed and saved, and over 4,000 receive medical treatment. We also saw a micro-enterprise program for widows and women-at-risk provide six months instruction and a sewing machine for 80 women, thus allowing them to break out of a hopeless cycle of abject poverty. We also saw water filtration projects be established in four different places - two in India and two in the Philippines. One of those projects is in Payatas, a garbage dump where over 110,000 people live. (See the October Point of Impact on our website for pictures and a detailed account.) At home, Impact Nations held its first conference in September; its success has led us to schedule another one in Vancouver this March. As the needs and opportunities continued to grow throughout the year, so did the Impact staff.

And 2008 has already begun with a bang. We have trips scheduled for India, Philippines , Guatemala , Zambia and Peru. Over the next 3 months, we will be initiating water projects in 2 or 3 more locations. There is a large expansion of the widows sewing project planned for Andhra Pradesh ( India ), with schools being established in a number of new communities. In three weeks, two of the Impact medical team and I will be meeting with a group of doctors in India to begin plans for ongoing medical care in villages that currently have little or none. We will be planning around a number of issues, including child immunization and oral rehydration, training health care workers for an increasing number of villages.

Besides the Journey of Compassion to Zambia, we are scheduling a scouting trip with a few of our staff to create a plan for addressing water issues through filters and hand-drilled wells, medical issues (especially malaria and AIDS treatment to block the transfer of the HIV virus to infants at childbirth), and agricultural issues in partnership with a wonderful organization called Farming God's Way which helps farmers move from subsistence to sustainable farming.

In the Philippines , Impact Nations is sponsoring Naomi Bjorgan and Bethany Stewart, who are being trained as midwives for two years. It is our plan to establish safe birthing centers in the developing world. As well, Tim Stewart is setting up water filter programs and working in mountain villages. I'll let Tim tell you himself:

"Bethany and I have been living in the Philippines for six months now and we have seen some amazing things.  Bethany has ministered to countless pregnant women from the poor communities around Davao City and has delivered 12 babies in the last 3 months!  We were given a 4x4 truck recently which has allowed us to make several trips to remote villages in the mountains of Mindanao , where we are able to help doctors and nurses provide much needed medical and dental care to the poor.  The truck has also been very helpful in our growing water filtration ministry.  I am currently working with another missionary to build water filters here in the city.  We then use the truck to deliver filters to the impoverished people living in the remote areas around Mindanao .  I'm really looking forward a jam packed 2008.  Perhaps I will get a chance to minister with some of you during the Journey of Compassion in April.  I know the Lord will be moving in a powerful way here in the Philippines."

In March and April, Tim will be receiving training from a Filipino doctor and a dentist in providing front-line medical and dental care to those who would otherwise receive none. I have seen "jungle doctoring" work extremely well in the Amazon - now we are going to start the same thing on the island of Mindanao .

We Need Your Help

If you want to be part of bringing the Gospel in supernatural and practical demonstrations - healing & salvation for thousands every year, medicine, safe water, agriculture, micro-enterprise opportunities - then partner with Impact Nations to make it happen.

Simply put, we need your help to rescue more and more lives. We need your help to financially support projects, scouting trips to determine the most fruitful targets, administration that keeps us moving forward.

One-time gifts are a blessing. Monthly partnering is incredibly helpful to accomplish the Lord's expanding assignment.

If you would like to become a prayer partner (we need all the prayer we can get!!), please email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it to find out more.

To all of you, on behalf of the entire Impact Nations team, we pray for God’s incredible blessing for this year. Many have said that 2008 is a year of new beginnings. We believe that for us and for you.
