This document provides a brief overview of what an Impact Nations Journey looks like. Every trip is different, so we are flexible with these parameters.
Our chief mission is to rescue lives, to equip and build up the Body of Christ, and to multiply the Kingdom through transformational ministry. We do this through training, spiritual impartation and service alongside with the local churches acting in unity. Through God’s blessing, we have seen that the work we do bears fruit that remains and multiplies, both in the locations where we minister, and in the churches to which our team members return after a Journey. We highly value Unity, Relationship, Healing, God’s Love, His Word and His Kingdom.
The size of the team depends on the ministry situation and transportation/accommodation logistics. A team can be as few as 15 and as many as 60. Team members are volunteers who come from all over the world, having raised their own funds, responding in faith to what they believe God has called them to do.
Usually on the first day of the journey, time will be set aside for orientation, training and administrative tasks. During the orientation we will provide you with information about the area we are working in, what we will be doing there and what are some of the customs of the locals here. Sometimes we bring in local pastors to talk about things such as the church culture and how to evangelize in this area, the degree of openness to the gospel, etc. The training focuses on teaching our model of healing prayer and deliverance, words of knowledge and basically how to minister. Our healing prayer model is used in the Healing Rooms and is one which we have found to be effective. We will also have a time of prayer and impartation for the team members. Administrative issues such as meals, water, safety and scheduling are discussed at this time as well.
The team will be divided into smaller pastoral groups with a designated leader. The purpose of the group is to pray for each other and to provide support whenever necessary for issues that may arise during the journey. You may be feeling very stretched during the trip so the regular check ins are a way to ensure that you are getting prayer and basically that you are being replenished as you give out.
You will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of the journey. In the Philippines we will be doing medical clinics, a feeding program in the dump in Payatas, pastors and leaders training, and evening healing prayer and evangelistic meetings.
Medical Clinics On all trips, we bring medicine and basic health care equipment and a team of medical professionals. We also welcome local medical professionals to join us and have worked alongside professionals of Hindu and Muslim religion. Our medical team will normally go to a different location each day to minister medical care to local people who cannot otherwise afford health care. Normally we can handle up to 200 people each day (this depends on how many people we have on the combined team.) The clinics are normally held from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There are all kinds of opportunities for non-medically trained people to volunteer as well. Some of these include, distributing parasite medication to the children, teaching basic hygiene such as hand washing and teeth brushing, prayer, crowd control, intake, children’s ministry, organizing the flow of patients through out the clinic area. It takes a lot of volunteers to make the clinics an organized success.
Pastor/Leader Training One of our highest values is UNITY in the church (Ps 133), so we ask the host organization to gather pastors and leaders from as many denominations as possible for training in the mornings and early afternoon—we know that God brings blessing when the larger church works together. Steve usually preaches a message of God’s love. Many of the pastors and parishioners (especially in third world countries) need to know that God is not angry at them. He also preaches on bringing the Kingdom of heaven down to earth and taking it out to the widowed, the orphaned and the poor and oppressed. As a member of the ministry team you will have the opportunity to pray with the pastors for healing and impartation. There is always a powerful presence of the Holy Spirit in these meetings. The people that we train in the mornings and evenings become the ministry team alongside us in the evening at the outreaches. This is very important for their training. They need to see the Spirit work because they will be doing healing and evangelism long after we have left. Evening Open-Air Healing Evangelism Crusades The evening outreach is preferably held in an open air setting where the local community feels welcome to attend. We start with a time of worship and then Steve will give a message to increase the faith in healing. He gives a lot of testimonials of healings that he has experienced in his journeys around the world. After the message, people will be invited to come forward for healing prayer. The team is invited to share any words of knowledge and to come forward to pray. God ALWAYS shows up and heals people! It is safe to say that all members of past teams have experienced God using them to heal someone. You will see blind eyes opened, deaf ears healed and pain disappear. Some have experienced tumors shrinking under their hands. Come expecting to be used by God in a powerful way.
Meals and Water Breakfast is usually eaten at the hotel or conference center. Lunches are eaten at the ministry area and are provided by the host organization or local churches. The dinner location is determined by the logistics of where the various teams are and where the evening outreach is being held. We provide one or two liter bottles of water to each participant which we label and ask you to hold onto for refilling from the larger dispensers. We are diligent in providing you with a healthy and safe experience.
