Hello everybody, we have exciting news for Impact Groups in Calgary!
This Sunday we are organizing an "Impact Kitchen" for some teens who are living on their own in a group home provided by a local family social services organization. These teens are in transition and rely on the food bank for meals. There are 16 of them and we are cooking our famous "Impact Lasagnas" for them. Hopefully they will get 2 meals each.
Megan has opened up a relationship through her passion for social responsibility with the organization.
In the future we hope to do things like "Career Days" and other workshops. We have even been asked if we would actually GO INTO the home for the next Impact Kitchen and prepare a meal we could all enjoy together while building relationships.
This is just another example of how if someone is passionate about doing something about social justice, the doors will open. You always need a champion for the cause, like Megan is for us, and then a community that has a vision to take action.
We hope this inspires you to do the same in your city. I am going to have Megan post updates and further developments here as we go.
