providing instruments to help A2J continue writing and performing music that brings the gospel budget: $2,300

Imagine having a passion to play music but having no instruments to play with.

Try to imagine borrowing a drum kit; cymbals and stands, small drums and large drums-a big heavy kick drum and 60lbs worth of hardware, just to learn how to play or practice. Imagine writing a song and not being able to play it! Imagine having to RENT your gear every time you played a concert.
When my wife and I went to India in January, 2011 - that is exactly what we saw; a young band called A2J, borrowing and renting their instruments just to be able to play.

Uday and his fellow band mates work hard everyday to bring the Gospel of Jesus to the people in the rural villages of India and to more remote places in the mountains. To do this they have to rent and borrow their music gear. Vinay the bass player has to play the bass (and guitar) upside down because he is left handed; he needs a left handed bass.

It is our goal to bring this need to a halt and provide the instruments necessary to help A2J continue writing and performing the music that is bringing the Gospel to the people.

Uday says the hardest job is renting and borrowing the drum kit so, we would like to start by getting A2J a drum kit. Our goal is $2,300.

Earlier on this year Uday and A2J went into the studio and recorded their 2nd worship CD. He is already talking about recording another. Please have a listen to a song from their new CD-‘Vijayaseeluda’
