Impact Nations

sending steph back to haiti to tell reginald's story and advance our projects there

budget: $2,500

Reginald is doing a great work in Haiti with the church he started after the earthquake, but needs help communicating with us.
Steph saw the shade tents we gave him, the juice business and the porridge business, but we're missing reports from Reg.

We need to know what's going on with the internet cafe, the school, the soup mix delivery, the proclaimers and the generator. Also we need to understand Jean Claude's proposals for skills development.

Steph is willing to return in July to clarify these activites, as well as coach Reginald and his wife (who's trained in accounting) on how to have a healthy, long-term relationship with us.

Updates to This Project

I started working with Reginald this year while I was back in Haiti continuing the filming my Documentary Voices of Haiti which I started filming in 2010.I was connected to Reginald through Impact Nations & wanted to check out the work of Impact Nations in Haiti to include in my film & also support what they are doing by offering my services ( Photography/Videography).

After spending a few weeks with Reginald and those in his community I knew I was in it for the long haul and by that I mean working together and acting as a Liaison between Reginald & Impact Nations to help advance the projects they have together. It isn't easy because of the cultural challenges that are presented in regards to communication but I look at it as an opportunity to grow and learn from the Haitians and also impart that knowledge to those in the Western World ,I feel it helps us to understand each other and obtain the bigger picture of who God is on a Global scale.

While I was in Haiti in April 2011 I filmed some of the projects that Impact Nations had already established and have running ..........one of which I outlined in the video on this page. I have an abundance of content to issue to attest to the work that has taken place there & I am prepared to head back into Haiti on July 12th of this year to further these projects & deepen the relationships I have with the locals in Reginald"s community/church as well as with Reginald him self. This trip I will take the time to lay the necessary ground work to train Reginald with invoicing and project management/communications so that we can continue our work together to set up/manage additional micro-businesses.

As of right now there are several projects that are started with Reginald and I need to head back in to tie up loose ends and report back to Impact Nations CEO Doug Penner about my findings. I also have a few things to take care of in regards to my film such as heading back into the recording studio in Port Au Prince with the Haitian Rappers I recruited from the Tent City in Castro to rap to the beats we have produced in East Vancouver Canada to use for my Films SoundTrack/EP. Aside from that I want to get to know those in the community more and more so that I can gauge the best way to approach the projects & how to train up others to manage the work long term. I feel that setting up comitties in the community would help but I need to evaluate the situation in person and see who the best candidates are to work with long term.I look forward to heading back.

Thanks for reading - Steph

Steph this was my first chance to see your work. Because of surviving the earthquake with the Haitian people I care very deeply about their day to day situation. I'm thankful God has linked us together, and I'm praying that He will supply all your needs to continue your work there. I look forward to meeting you soon!

I am heading back into Haiti in six days from now trusting for Gods Provision & looking forward to working with Reginald

Dear Steph, Hi my name is Cheryl Ward (from Australia) and I have read all your amazing blogs and i have been blessed sooooooo much watching your photostories!!!! I journeyed to Haiti last December and stayed at the mission with Reggie and Johanne and the team. How my life changed!

I just want you to know that you are God's amazing Princess and He goes before you in VISION and PROVISION. I will love to support you via sponsorship and also will be covering you in prayer as you minister to God's people there and are used by Father to so powerfully tell their story to the world!!! How I love looking at Reggie and all of my Haitian family through your eyes! - many of them my friends and 'family' now too.  You have the eyes of Jesus! An amazing gift that is fully yielded to Him and so, you go in His strength and His FAVOUR!!!! I see the favour of Jesus all over you! He will make your paths 'straight', and will 'command His angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways'. You will have access to HIGH PLACES and He is already pouring His favour and love all over you, and out through you!

Reggie and I and my husband, John, are now planning our next trip to Haiti for Dec / January. We hope to take a team with us to build the school in Bouvier. I have trecked the 8 hours there with Reggie and Peter and many others  - as I shared in my Impact story. (you can check it out at: http://www.impactnations.com/profiles/blogs/miracles-in-haiti )

Bouvier is truly in the centre of the Mountains of Revelation!!!! (Peter named them that! Haha!) God showed me many things concerning the future while I was there! But mostly, I just loved on the children!!!! How awesome it has been to see your photos of many of the team 'leaping for joy' with you, at the mission! My heart aches with longing now, to go back. And I truly hope I meet you one day. Until that time, I will watch over you, in prayer, and will chat on here now and again! Bless you, Steph. Thankyou for being humble and obedient! You go in Father's awesome FAVOUR and ANNOINTING! I will follow your steps with great interest! You and your team are part of the NEW WINE that God is pouring out over His dry and ready HARVEST!!!!

Love in Jesus, hugs and smiles,

Cheryl

Hey Cheryl, thanks for the support and its great to hear about you returning to trek up that mountain because I was planning to do that on this trip but I wont be able to fit it in so I am so happy to hear some one else is picking that up. I should give you a status report on the supplies and materials that we have for Sept for the children there after I see reginald and go over the projects I will let you know/the group know. I am so grateful for your prayers and thanks for looking at my work ,that means a lot .
