I have attached  to this e-mail two (2) pictures of the benches that we will build for the school. These benches are very strong and well done and I know that they will last very long.

I have contacted an organisation and they put together a special curriculum for the type of school that we are trying to put together. It is awesome. They edit books for the schools.

Here is the budget for the school:

1.-  One (1) bench will cost 1,250 Gourdes and will fit 4 kids.
Twenty 20 benches will cost 25,000 Gourdes and will fit 80 kids
NB: The reason why these benches will cost us that prize, it is
because the welder will do it for us free. (Thank God).

2.- One kid supplies for the whole year (Including all the books, copy
books, pens, pencils, ...) will cost 500 Gourdes
80 Kids will cost 40,000 Gourdes*

Thank you very much for your interest in Haiti. And may the Lord
Reward you for all the good works that you are doing.

Updates to This Project

Hi Doug, I will take care of this project! I am a teacher from near Coffs Harbour in Australia. I am fundraising now through our school and community. The response is overwhelming! If there is 'over-flow' of funds we will put it towards the other projects. Am visiting Haiti in December. Hope to meet with Reginald and see the school where these funds go. Blessings and prayers, Cheryl Ward. Moonee Beach, Australia
Hi Doug,
I saw Cheryl's comment and would like you to know that I have also talked to family, friends and former teaching colleagues about this project and will be sending some cheques in the mail. If we end up with more than we need for this project perhaps there is another school project that it could go to. Blessings, Joan Greenfield
Hi Doug, Many of my students and friends are contributing and are so moved to help out in any way they can, and it is so exciting to hear that there may be an overflow of funds as others join in as well! Blessings! Cheryl
School fully funded now!!!!! Doug Penner let me know last week that we are completely funded! Thanks to all who donated from across the globe! Thanks to my wonderful school - Toormina High near Coffs Harbour, and our local businesses who gave so generously!! Thanks to Joan and so many others! How exciting!!! So excited to visit the school this week and meet the children and families. God bless, all!

What an amazing and life-changing privelage it was to journey into the mountains behind Carrefour to visit the little school of Bouvier with Pastor Reginald and his team!!! God speaks to your heart up there - on His "MOUNTAINS OF REVELATION". We trecked 8 hrs to get there- traversing 3 mountains, crossing 3 rivers. (The guide & donkey made it in 4 hrs -with all the gear-Haha!) We journeyed breathtaking beauty -including mountains split-to-white by the earthquake! The divine healings and miracles God is bringing in His mercy on that mountain and in Carrefour thru Pastor Reginald and his team is just awe-inspiring! And at the tiny school & community of Bouvier, God blessed us more than we blessed the children, school & people... a truly life-changing experience The children are so happy and are much safer now they do not have to walk hours further to go to school. The seating will continue to be built in the near future and taken up by donkeys with the team!!!! To see the kids faces when we were there, and to share with them food and gifts!!! God is good! I will be back! Thank you to all who gave! God bless. Love in Jesus' Name, Cheryl

The School has the books that were paid for and are on back order because Pastor Reg got a great deal on them so they will be ready in time for school starting in September. Reg also needs 4 more shade tents to haul up to the school because he is going to level the land to get it ready for the new tents/building of the school in early september. I am not sure how much the shade tents cost and from what i understand the benches will be coming up with Reg but i am seeking more clarity on this now.
i just spoke with Reginald he took the benches up and sent the receipt to Doug Penner for the cost also he just told me that the school would need $4800 to complete the building project which also includes food for 120 kids each day for one year and their school supplies ( they already have books but will need supplies ).

Resurrection's greetings to all of you,

Things are going well down here in Haiti. We are facing everyday challenges, but we know that we are more then conquerers.

The school in Bouvier is opened since last Monday and meets in the old church building. It is too small, but we squeeze them in until we finish with th first stage of mounting up the tents. We have more than 120 kids this year, they have great expectation and we have more faith than ever that we can make a difference in their lives.

We have 22 benches that can sit 110 kids, the youngest will sit on small chairs. We have to finish with the first stage of mounting the tents in order to better serve them. As you know, we are taking a team there on Oct. 29th.

We have money for school supplies, but it is not enough. From Project #389, after building the benches, we had some money left for the school supplies. Last year since we received the money for project #389, on February, school was already opened for 4 months, we decided that we would buy them this year, but now we have more kinds than last year . I have ordered the books, but they won't delivered them until we pay the total amount.

I will have a meeting with Loucko from Bouvier tomorrow and I will post any update from that meeting.

Until next time,

May the Lord richly bless you all for remembering the poor and for helping impacting their lives.

Email from Reg....

I pray that you are doing well. Down here we are doing great. Yesterday we took all the couples from our church to a nice diner, it was awesome. Some couples wept and forgave one another. The Lord is faithful.

I have attached two documents related to project #389 (School fees and benches) I ad already sent you the receipts for the benches.

There are some other expenses that we made that I don't have receipts for. Like transportation money and fees for some people who worked in the construction of the benches that cost :

Transportation: 3500 Gourdes
Fees : 2000 Gourdes
Total : 7500 Gourdes

So, so far we have spent 40,454.00 Gourdes to purchase the things to build the benches and 7,500 Gourdes for transportation and fees. That's mean 47,954 Gourdes.

And for 120 kids this year,
books will cost : 38,820 Gourdes
and supplies will cost : 9,561.28 Gourdes
Total : 48,381.28 Gourdes
Benches,
Transportation and fees : 47,954 Gourdes
TOTAL : 96,335.28 Gourdes

On January 25th, you sent 1,660 USD through Paypal
1,660 times 39,75 = 65,985 Gourdes

96,335.28 - 65,985 = 30,350.28 Gourdes

30,350.28 is what we miss to complete the purchase of the school supplies and books for this year.
