When Tim Stewart moved to the Philippines, it soon became clear that bad water was an acute problem: "When we arrived in the village, we learned that they had just buried two small children who had died from dehydration. The children had been suffering from severe diarrhea due to contaminated water. When I saw the heartbreak of this situation and realized that communities all over the nation were facing this same reality, I became determined to be a part of the solution."
It is now believed that 58% of the ground water sources in the Philippines are contaminated and unsafe for drinking. Most of the rural communities are suffering from poor drinking water. The province of Maguindanao is no exception. In fact, some estimate that as many as 52% of the population in this province is without access to safe drinking water.
Without safe drinking water, children suffer from amebic dysentery, leading to diarrhea, severe dehydration, and eventually death. It doesn't have to be this way. Help us make a difference.
Make an Impact
Together with Governor "Toto" Esmael Mangudadatu, we are bringing health and hope to families throughout the province of Maguindanao. The governor has agreed to buy two BioSand Water Filters for every one filter that Impact Nations purchases. The filters will remove the bacteria and parasites that are causing so much damage.
When you purchase a filter for $69, a minimum of 15 people will receive a lifetime supply of clean water. That's less than $5 per person! As a bonus, you will be investing in a business venture that will continue to deliver safe drinking water to Filipino families for years to come.
See the Impact
Impact Nations has completed several BioSand Water Filter projects in the Philippines. Here is some of the feedback that we received from a village called Gatungan:
