Bouvier New School Building - Phase 1
The old building - (as you would see in the photo, where it is behind me) was devastated in the earthquake. It is held up by branches, has virtually no walls, and is mostly covered by tarpoulins. The children have school here even in the rain, in winter. Reggie plans three stages to build the new school - all in the coming months.
First: Level the ground and lay a slab. The locals there will help Reggie do this task, then they bring in the cement and lay the slab! A huge task! Then, Reggie plans to put the tent steel frames on the slab, that have been funded by Project #513.

Hi dear Impact Nations family, it is so exciting to feed back to you from our Aussy Journey of Compassion that we undertook in January. The slab for the new school (Project #526) was funded by several people from both Australia and Canada. THANK YOU SO MUCH! The logisitics of getting this slab laid before we arrived in Bouvier were so complex. But God made a way through the resiliance, commitment and determination of the men and women on Pastor Reggie's team - both in Carrefour and Bouvier - who worked so hard to level the ground and then lay the slab - all by hand! The bags of cement were carried up by donkeys. Water and dirt were carried by the people. A mighty slab was laid to very specific directions sent over by Dave - my brother - who headed up the build. What a feat to treck so much, by so few, so far! And this had to be done even before we arrived. When we arrived, we had the help of many men, women and children to treck all the building materials and supplies, the food and all camping gear to Bouvier. The 6-9hr treck was very difficult but God was with us and we all were grateful for His help - and your prayers - as we journeyed. God's presence and encouragement was all around us as we travelled deep into the mountains, crossed rivers and finally arrived at Bouvier! We were so excited that we had made it! So for the next several days, we began the build of the school together. How exciting it was! We loved living, eating, worshiping and working with the men and women on our Aussy/Haitian team. We all grew very close, God touched our hearts and changed us as we ministered to the people and children - and they ministered to us! Blessings to you all for giving. We love our brothers and sisters in Haiti. We love you all for giving. Thank you. The school is now underway! Stay tuned for the next phase - Completing the new school!
