Updates to This Project

Hi Kelly, I'm going on vacation after tomorrow. Posting this here in case others want to help.

Reg wants 4 20x30 tents like the ones we brought on the last Journey of Compassion to get this school going in September.

Let me know how much they are; we have some money left in the Haiti fund. You can buy them from Midland, who've been generous in the past. Or maybe Cabellas.

Steph's idea is to Greyhound them to Montreal, then use Oxfam Quebec (not International) to UPS them down. Boat takes about a month (Reg needs to know when they left so he can check if they arrive). It goes through customs as a "gift".

Hi wonderful ImpactNations family across the globe! Would you like to partner with us in helping to provide these precious mountain children of Bouvier (a long treck into the mountains behind Port-au-Prince) a new school building!?! If you look at the little shack in the background of my photo, you will understand the difficulty of schooling 120 children, ages 3 - 17 in this tiny earthquake-ravaged building that has mainly tarpaulins for walls. The children love coming to school and many treck between 1-3 hours to get to school each day. Since Pastor Reggie set up this school, with several Haitian teachers who volunteer their lives to educate the children and share God's love with them, all these children have not had to risk their lives and well-being to treck to Port-au-Prince schools (an 8-hour treck that put many at risk of rape and abduction.)
After my visit to Bouvier last December, I was determined to do more! The children were so blessed and excited that we had all funded their school for this year's supplies.Pastor Reggie's God-inspired-dream was to buy the land next to this tiny dilapidated school to build the new school. In January, for my 50th birthday, my friends and family donated to this land instead of buying gifts.... and we were able to send Pastor Reggie the full amount for the land! What a humbling experience! God is so good through those we love!!! And now the dream is to build the school here by the end of the year! We need the tents as the basis for the buildings. We will then treck to Bouvier with our team of Aussie tradies and clad the steel frames with corrugated iron outside and plywood inside! That's the plan at this stage!!!!! And the logistics are huge as all these materials- and our teams - have to treck into Bouvier - across the three mountains and three rivers!!! Thank you God for DONKEYS!!!!! Haha! Please consider partnering with us in this next step of the project. Project #513 is up and running! If you can't donate, please pray! We love you all and appreciate your prayers and covering! Many have made the treck into these 'Mountains of Revelation' believing for healing, and I am a testimony to this as well! (one girl was even raised from the dead!) This school will also be their weekend church and community building. Those that treck here in the future will have the old tiny building to stay in when we fix it up! Join us! Pray! Donate! Thanks so much! Love in Jesus' name, Cheryl and John Ward, Moonee Beach, Australia.
Kelly figured out how to buy them in Florida so shipping is cheap! New budget: $4,470 for four. $1,582 still needed, but we've already bought them because Reg wants them for the kids to start school in September.
To get them there in September, shipping is more than we hoped. New budget is $5,945. $644 needed immediately and we can ship them.
Kelly just told me the shipment leaves next week
Amen, that's fabulous! God is so good! Answer to prayer! And thanks to Doug and Kelly and all who helped make this possible!
Thank you God! Once the tents are up can Reg take some pictures. I want to send them to my brother who made a contribution from his business.
Reg just called: he picked up the tents a few minutes ago!

Hello everyone,

I want to thank each and everyone of you for your generous support with the tents for Bouvier. I have received them and they are ready to be mount up in Bouvier. We are now trusting the Lord with you for the money to level and pave the ground. We know that He who began the good work in us is faithful to accomplish it.

Pictures and report will be sent as soon as we mount them.

Sincerely yours in the Master's service in Haiti,

Reg

Reg called and explained that Cheryl's team has decided to build with hardwood instead of using the tents for the school. So I told Reg to use the tents wisely and let us know what he did. Sounds like there are uses for 1 or 2 in Bouvier, and there's a church that's been asking for help. He'll let us know what he decides.

Thank you to all who gave to this special project. Pastor Reggie is using these great tents for many special projects. We saw them in use ourselves, when we were there in January. Reggie thought he may use them as the basis for the new school in Bouvier, however we decided to build the school in hardwood, corrugated iron and plywood - all so much sturdier - so the tents are now being used in other vital areas! Thank you and blessings! Love, Cheryl
