Development Range

  • Land for Kids school, house and church owned by the ministry
  • Play area for 350 kids not yet owned
  • Farm 25acres (8 ½ hectares) owned and farmed. One permanent member of staff working the land. More brought in as required
  • Esthers Salon – mens barbers
  • Pharmacy – Small unit
  • Internet café – 7 computer terminals, currently down due to bad connection. Lion of Judah to research best connection to get this up and running again

  • Esther is a national singer and money from her albums come into support the ministry
  • Water bole hole on site (hand pump) drilled to 100 feet. Water is good for washing but contaminated and therefore undrinkable. This does however save them going some distance to the local well and carrying the water back in Jerry cans

Farm

This is currently a good source of growth in produce and finance. The 25 acre plot of land 20minutes outside Mtyanna is being extensively developed. Produce includes:

o 800 new coffee saplings (vision to produce 4 tons of coffee a year)

o Banana plantation for Motoke food

o Newly planted orange trees

o Mango trees

o Cassava plants

o Beans potatoes

At the moment the field is supplying one months supply if food per semester. There is a full time paid farm worker, Johnson, working 12 hours a day. He loves the work and studies agriculture. Robert has a vision of selling oranges and Mangoes through the local supermarket, when these crops come to maturity.

Future vision

  • To be able to support and school 700 children (currently 359)
  • Have 8 houses built and inhabited with kids
  • Build a brick built church for 2000 people
  • Increase the turnover of business of:
    • Salon to include women’s hair
    • Internet café
    • Tailors (there are 4 trained women ready to teach others but they need sewing machines and start up cost etc
    • Increase the farm turnover. A tractor is required to pull out all the old tree stumps then rent the tractor out to other farmers.
    • The pharmacy to include a medial clinic
    • Build and sell water filtration units
