Impact Nations

After 21 Journeys of Compassion to 13 nations, it is time to leverage our experience in primary healthcare partnership. A team including a doctor, a pharmacologist, several nurses and nurse practioners will be formulating our strategy over the next few months.

As part of this initiative, we are sending the founder of our mobile medical clinics, Heidi Dunbar, along with fellow nurse practioner Kate Vanwely, to meet our medical coordinator Heather Brasset in Uganda. There they will work with one of our most capable national partners, Robert Mponye, to lay out a plan for the next year for his villages. (From there they will all be joining our Journey of Compassion team in Burundi and do the same thing with Dr. Aline.)

Heidi and Kate received free flights to South Africa through a granting process, and are contributing their own time and money for the Burundi Journey of Compassion. But for the critical two weeks in Uganda, they need $2,000 each for flights, $500 each for food and accommodation, and $2,000 to start medical projects.

Please consider partnering with them for long-term change. You can read their proposal below, and to receive updates as they unfold, click follow at the bottom of this page.

Thank you

Updates to This Project

This is hope realised! We are very grateful for your selfless endeavours to come and be part of our life, but even more so, bring forth transformation to our communities, and nations! Your services and expertise will certainly revitalise people in our countries who have been sunken by the prevalent ignorance and lack of education, which robs them of their right to live to their full potential! We joyfully wait to see you, the TRIO!
I want to draw you attention a uniquely important project that will help take Impact Nations to the next level of effectiveness in profoundly transformation projects in Africa. Heidi Dunbar and Kate Vanwely have been with us from the beginning and are the ones who laid the medical foundation for what Impact Nations has done to treat over 30,000 people in the last 6 years.

Investing in this project will lead to a multiplication of local health trainers, establishing a permanent clinic in Uganda, and working with the churches, governments and health officials to effectively treat those who have not had access to medical treatment for years.

Invest in Heidi & Kate. Invest in untold thousands of lives.

We have begun blogging about our work here - have a look!

Thanks Impact Nations for sending Heather, Kate and Heide to us! Our communities have been impacted by the education and the hands-on services that have been offered by the three Musketeers!! They are equippping our people to be able to change our predicament of ill-health, premature deaths and un-necessary sicknesses due to poor hygiene and sanitation!! It is just the beginning and yet we see such a beam of change in our people's lives!
Hello from Uganda from the three musketeers! Today we visited Bulera and received such a warm and humbling welcome from the people there. The electricity was proudly on display, but not nearly as noticeable as the electricity amongst the people. We saw from a distance the crop growing in the farm, it was lush and green. Tomorrow we will return to visit the school, village and farm and hopefully get in a little health education. We thoroughly enjoyed 'African worship unplugged' as the massive rain shower, postponed Heather's preaching due to lack of ability to hear. Following the service, we had an adventurous drive home - stuck in the mud three times, with lots of laughs for ourselves and the onlookers - as Heidi went sliding through the mud. We continue to provide ongoing medical care for Hannington's wife, Florence, for a serious infection in her hip. We ask that you keep her in your prayers. We attended pastor Robert's church this evening and were so blessed by their passionate worship. We continue to collaborate with the medical professionals here, to establish the core team for ongoing primary care in the area. Details to follow. Kate would like everyone to know that she will be learning to breakdance tomorrow - and is very excited about this! Love and blessings!
Please post video of breakdancing!
Sounds like things are going great! Love the updates! You girls ROCK!
